About Us: Anse Boileau Secondary School forms an integral part of the Ministry of Education Seychelles. It is one of the 11 government secondary schools of Seychelles, which following the educational policy of Seychelles provides free education to the children.
LOCATION: Anse Boileau School Is situated in the Western coast of the Mahe Island, in Seychelles. Harboured by a ravishing bay Anse BOILEAU DISTRICT got its name from the famous Captain Boileau who anchored his ship here. His statue sits proudly on the mountain opposite our school
The
Entourage is engulfed by the mangroves that grow abundantly in
the marshes which are known to house multiple species of birds
and fishes.
Watching over the school is the 89 year old church of 'Our Lady of Seven Sorrows', whose gigantic bell's chimes remind us of the hour. To ensure our safety we have the Anse Boileau police station just a hop, step and a jump away.
Enhancing
the importance and beauty of our district, sitting nearly
on the school's doorstep is the 'Roche Coson' meaning 'Pig Rock'.
It is a majestic boulder perched upon another, when seen from
underneath looks like a pig's face, a natural
marvel that has been declared a
national heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Seychelles.
Schooling Structure: In accordance with the Education Reforms, the school tries hard to offer opportunities to all students, the moment they join the school in S1(secondary one, 7th year of the education cycle). They follow subjects such as English, French, Mathematics, Science, Geography and History, in addition to Religion, Physical Education (P.E) and Technical studies, under a dedicated school management team.
The first 3 years are very crucial since at the end of S3 (secondary three), the students are required to choose an option which consists of the subjects that match particular interests or career aspirations. All students experience a programme of personal and social education (PSE) which provides the support allowing them to make well considered choices on matters relating to higher education and career.
