CREOLE LANGUAGE

Seychelles has three official languages - Creole, French and English. Creole is a French-based language that developed in many of France’s overseas teritories: the Indian Ocean islands of Seychelles, Mauritius and Reunion, Tahiti, Martinique and even Lousiana. Regional differences developed both in accents and vocabulary; Seychelles’ Creole has both Arabic and Swahili influences. However, they are similar enough for Creole spoken by a Seychellois to be understood by a Cajun from Louisiana.
Much of the spelling and pronunciation of Creole is phonetic. When reading it, you will probably find it easier to understand if you speak the words out loud.

If you click on any of the samples below, you will here the creole, the very first sample may take a little time to come up, but the next ones you click on will be heard quick.
