INFORMATION
As in the proceeding years, there will be two competitions during the festival:
35 mm UNDERWATER PHOTOGRAPHY SHOOT-OUT CONTEST
The Shoot-out contest is open to any 35mm Photographers who attend the festival and gives them the chance to win a free return ticket for the next SUBIOS festival in 1999.
Contestants may enrol at any of the participating Dive Centers and must expose two rolls of film within the specified period. they may dive on any of the dives organized by the Centres, or on private dives during the contest period and after processing, four slides must be chosen for judging, a maximum of two beeing macro shots. There will be a special ‘Pro’ category for previous contest winners and special guests
OPEN VIDEO CONTEST
An open competition for underwater videos will be held in which the first prize will be a return ticket to SUBIOS in 1999. Entries must have been taken within the last five years and may not have won a contest before.
the submitted videos must run between 10 and 12 minutes on standard VHS tape recorded in either PAL or NTSC format. Sound tracks may be in any language but each entry must be accompenied by a description of the locations and dates of filming written in english.
ART,STORY WRITING AND POETRY COMPETITION
This year, the SUBIOS Committee has organized a third competiotion for schools:
- a Two-Dimensional Art Competition
- a Story-Writing Competition
- a Poetry Competition.
All school children, NYS, Polytechnic and College of Arts students were invited to participate in as many competitions as they like.
Selected entries of this competition will be on display in the National Library, the official opening of this exhibition is on the 9th of November, 15.30 pm at the National Library.
