Academic Background   MA in Political Science and M.Phil  in International Relations with specialization in Iran from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.       

Service Background       Joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1979. Has served in Indian Missions in France, Senegal, Mauritius, USA, Iran and Germany besides stints at the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi. Assumed charge of High Commissioner to Seychelles w.e.f. 25th May 2001.  Presented Credentials on 29th May 2001.

 

Work Areas                         Has attended International and National Conference and Seminars and presented papers on several global issues. Has extensively worked in the areas of culture, information, education, political and economic subjects during the course of attachments in Indian Missions.

 

Creative pursuits              Writing (short stories, poems, essays, have published a collection of short stories). Singing. 

Hobbies                                Travelling, photography, reading, nature trails, swimming. Listening to Indian Music.

 

Vision                                    To work towards finding a rightful place for India in the world and building bridges of friendship and understanding with the rest of the world.  To promote and project the strengths of India, particularly focusing on contemporary India
