Progress requires the systematic development and application of
research, statistics and information. Sport development
requires systematic research in many areas including policy
development, and applied and basic sport science for
athlete/participant development. The collaboration of the sports
Federations and other agencies needs to be engaged in these
activities.
Objectives
Develop the capacity to gather and use information which is
targeted at achieving and monitoring improved outcomes and
performance standards
Undertake relevant and current sports sector analysis to
establish the social and economic 'value' of sport
Develop a better understanding of our clients and their
needs through a programme of client surveys
Institute a national sports IT network for the dissemination
and management of information and research
Further the development of an effective Information
Technology, (IT), Management of Information System, (MIS)
and infrastructure
Research and disseminate information on ethical issues in
sport
Undertake a National survey to determine the economic,
health and social benefits of sport.

Further develop our information, statistical and research management
capabilities to assist the development and support of sport.
