A recent trip to South Africa saw staff of the
Seychelles Tourism Marketing Authority (STMA) reward travel agents there
who have qualified as Seychelles SMART.
Working in conjunction with Air Seychelles and
supported by Creole Holidays, the STMA staff presented certificates to
the South African travel agents who had proved their knowledge of
Seychelles by successfully taking part in the SMART scheme.
A presentation ceremony and cocktail reception was
hosted in Cape Town on October 27 and in Johannesburg on October 29, at
which the newly qualified SMART travel agents became the first South
African tour operators to receive STMA's new consumer brochure.
Jenni Harris-Beggs, STMA's director of marketing
operations presented the SMART agents with framed certificates in
recognition of their work in learning more about Seychelles, which will
enable them to better market the destination.
In addition to the SMART ceremony and introduction
of the new brochure, the travel agents' get together was also used by
Deon Freemantle, speaking on behalf of Air Seychelles, to launch the
airline's fourth weekly service to South Africa.
The new flight started operating on Friday October
31.
A further presentation ceremony, to acknowledge the
achievements of SMART agents in Durban early this month.
