VP Belmont on
UK tourism mission

VP Belmont
Vice-President
Joseph Belmont is on a three-day visit to London during which he will
launch a number of initiatives for the Tourism industry.
He will conduct
meetings with key UK airline operators and a number of important tour
operators which feature Seychelles.
VP Belmont will
also be meeting with the UK Minister in the Foreign & Commonwealth office, Mr Chris Mullins.
Earlier on Monday
June 14, Mr Belmont held a series of meetings with heads of BBC
Worldwide aimed at exploring opportunities for better coverage of
Seychelles news and features on tourism and the environment.
He also gave an
interview to BBC World Service Radio which is expected to be broadcast
in the next 48 hours.
Later on Monday
evening London time the Vice-President kicked off a novel initiative
to promote Seychelles through Art, by opening an exhibition of limited
edition prints of the islands by a renowned British artist.
The exhibition
launched "The Seychelles Collection" which will see well-known
international artists paint
Seychelles themes for sale to
art lovers worldwide over the next few years.
The event is part
of the initiative of the STMA to diversify avenues for the marketing
and promotion of the Seychelles brand in key European markets.
VP Belmont is due
back in Seychelles on Thursday morning in time for the National Day
celebrations. |
