The Country
Director of the United Nations Fund for Population (UNFPA), Dr Bernard
Coquelin, was in the country this week on his farewell visit, after six
years in his post.
Dr Coquelin was
accredited as UNFPA Country Director for Seychelles in December 1996.
During his tenure
of office, Seychelles has received UNFPA assistance particularly for the
development of Reproductive Health and Family Life Education for Youth.
The Youth Health
Centre at Anse Kerlan is one of the latest projects that have been
funded by UNFPA.
During his stay
here, Dr Coquelin met with several ministers, as well as officers
involved in the implementation of the current programme.
Dr Coquelin is due
to leave Seychelles Saturday 18th.
