Delegates address standardisation and integration

Minister Faure addressing guests and delegates at the opening session of the conference on Wednesday

Addressing standardisation and integration in post-secondary education and training will be the challenge for educationists attending this year's, the 5th Annual Education Conference.

Education Minister Danny Faure said on Wednesday September 17,  at the International Conference Centre when he officially opened the conference, whose main session will take place at the National Theatre on Thursday September 18.

"Standardisation and integration are important in order to be consistent and to have a common approach," the minister told government ministers, members of the diplomatic corps and other guests who included Opposition leader Wavel Ramkalawan and top government officials.

Mr Faure said that the conference  on Thursday,  will focus on competency-based approach to education, and that training will be discussed, its implications assessed and its use for post secondary education examined.

One of the guest speakers at the conference, Quebec-based consultant Carl Filiatreault gave a keynote address in which he dwelled on the importance of training being oriented towards meeting demands within the labour market.
