The Aspiration 2013
document should be used as a guideline in decision making regarding the
country's future development.
This was said by
the Minister for Education and Youth, Mr Danny Faure when he was
presenting the Aspiration 2013 to the National Assembly on Tuesday July
8.
A copy of the
document was first handed over to the President France Albert Rene on
the occasion of the country's 10th anniversary of the Third Republic.
Minister Faure told
MNAs that the document produced over a period of two months contained
the youth's ambitions, dreams and visions for the country over the next
10 years.
Pointing out that
the document reflected the youth's state of mind, Minister Faure said
"as from now on all development plans made should take into
consideration Aspiration 2013."
He urged the MNAs
to also take into account the youth's aspirations in their undertakings
to construct a modern and united Seychelles.
The youth, he said,
feel proud that they have been given the opportunity to participate in
such an exercise to voice their aspirations an unprecedented exercise in
the country's history.
The youth have
expressed their aspirations about how they would like to see health and
education systems, public and transport services, the economy, housing,
police and environment evolve, and the role of moral and spiritual
values, religion, democracy, among others, in the next decade.
Minister Faure said
he was satisfied with the number of youth who had participated in the
exercise organised in all districts in the country. The making of the
Aspiration 2013 saw the participation of youths from primary six onwards
and in the education system alone 6,000 youths took part according to
the minister.
