Seychellois women are being urged to participate in this year's edition of MaAkfrika, which will be held in Benoni, South Africa in October 2003.

This appeal was made by Mrs Doyace Porice, the vice-president of the International MaAfrika Club, who is also the chairperson of the local MaAfrika Club, while officially launching the MaAfrika 2003 competition, in a small ceremony at the English River Community Centre, on Friday March 28.

She said that the local club is ready to mobilise and encourage Seychellois women to show their abilities on both local and international scenes.

Mrs Porice said that she was proud to be elected as vice president of the International MaAfrika Club and that her election showed the strength of the Seychellois women.
