The North East Point Hospital has received a donation of an ultra
grinder and four table fans from a local detergent manufacturer and
distributor.
During a handing-over ceremony which took place at the hospital
recently, the director of JK Industries, Jothinathan Naidoo officially
made the contribution on behalf of all his staff.
According to Mr Naidoo, as one of JK’s most prominent customers, the
hospital had informed him that they were in need of a grinder or blender
for the proper preparation of food.
Since most of the hospital’s patients cannot have solid foodstuffs, the
ultra grinder seemed appropriate and will make the nurses’ jobs easier.
Nurse coordinator for the hospital, Marie-Antoinette Hoareau, expressed
satisfaction towards JK’s generous act and thanked the company on behalf
of the hospital, which currently accommodates 48 patients.
“Having encountered some problems in the past to prepare the patients'
food, such as purées, the previous blenders we had were not powerful
enough,” Nurse Hoareau added. “Half the time the blenders would heat up
too fast and break down.”
Apart from the ultra grinder, the donation also comprised four table
fans.
The entire contribution totalled R5,500 worth of equipment.
With the donation, both JK Industries and hospital officials said they
hope to continue with their fruitful partnership. |
