The results from a survey designed to
gauge public opinion on government services is currently being analysed,
say officals from the Ministry for Administration and Manpower
Development.
The survey, carried out by the Public
Service Development Division of that ministry, queried 1,500 people
across Mahe, Praslin and La Digue from August 15-17.
Officials said the confidential survey
was designed to assess the level of satisfaction with the services
provided by government ministries and agencies in order to provide a set
of best practices in the provision of public services in Seychelles.
Conducted in creole, the survey
addressed what the public expects from government services and also what
kind of barriers the public faces when trying to access those services.
It also gave participants the chance to
contribute and share ideas that could improve government services.
The 1,500 participants, consisting of
adults 18 or older, were chosen at random by the Management Information
Systems Division. Basic information from the participants, such as age,
employment status and usage of different media in the country were also
collected for additional perspective into participants' responses.
The results of the survey will be
followed by focus groups in each district to discuss the findings. |
