A high level Government delegation has just
returned from a working visit to Bahrain and Qatar aimed at further
strengthening bilateral ties.
Led by the special economic adviser in the
President’s Office Mukesh Valabhji, the delegation delivered to the
heads of both countries a written message from President France Albert
Rene on bilateral relations and ways to further bolster cooperation.
Mr Valabhji was accompanied by the principal
secretary in the Ministry of Economic Planning, Ahmed Afif.
In Bahrain, the delegation held talks with Prime
Minister Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa and other senior members
of his Cabinet including the Minister for Finance Abdel Saif, member of
the Prime Minister’s Court Shaikh Khaled bin Abdulla, the Minister of
Cabinet Affairs Ahmed Al Mutaua as well as State Minister Abdel Nabi Al
Shoala.
In Qatar, they met with the Chief of Amiri Diwan
and adviser to the Emir of Qatar, Abdulla M S Al-Thani.
According to a communiqué from the President’s
Office at State House both governments in Bahrain and Qatar had
expressed great desire to continue to work towards improving bilateral
ties and cooperation between Seychelles and their respective countries.
The delegation returned home on Sunday March 21. |
