The introduction of the ink doctor marks the end of
worries for people unable to find ink cartridges for their printers on
the local market.
The promoter of the Ink Doctor service which is
being offered at Soft Cell, Mr Geoffrey Pilkington informed Business
Nation that there is a high market here in Seychelles for ink
cartridge re-filling.
"Considering the scarcity of ink cartridges and the
elevated price of those in shops, a customers undertaking cartridge
re-filling stands to save by almost 50%" Mr Pilkington
declared.
Ink technology seems to be spreading and becoming
more popular especially in Europe; UK, Germany and also South Africa.
Moreover some brands of cartridges are also now being sold along with
refill kits.
At the moment ink doctor does re-fills for desk jet
and ink jet cartridges but hope to advance into laser jet refilling, in
the near future.
The whole process of ink refilling is quite simple
but requires certain expertise. Upon being taken from the drop off point
at Soft Cell, the empty cartridges are taken to the fully equipped
'Klink-ink,' where they are injected with ink and then vacuum-sealed.
This is to protect them from humidity. Within 24 hours or even less, a
customer can have his/her cartridge refilled, cleaned and sealed as good
as new.
Apart from saving consumers money, ink cartridge
refilling should also have a positive impact on the natural environment.
Re-filling limits the discard of empty cartridges, as well as additional
paper and plastic packaging that are often non-biodegradable into the
environment.
Consumers can
enjoy the convenience of re-filling cartridges at reasonable rates.
