Berjaya awards 100
healthy staff

In a bid to
encourage punctuality at work and to boost productivity, the
management of Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Beach Resort and Casino has
launched a "Health Award".
100 staff members
out of the 270 employed by the hotel were on Friday afternoon (May
28), happy to hear that their efforts not to miss a day of work over
the past two years, were being recognised. The staff, 61 female and 39
male workers, were presented with gifts and certificates.
To further
motivate the staff, the general manager of Berjaya Hotels and Resorts
(Sey) Limited, B.B. Khoo, has promised that next year, in addition to
certificates and gifts, they would each get a cash prize.
He reminded the
staff that they were an important asset to the tourism industry, a
major pillar of the economy and that its success depended on their
productivity.
"We need to
curtail those medical leaves, maximise our productivity, maintain
service standards and encourage healthy habits," Mr Khoo said.
He noted that the
award did not necessarily mean that the staff should be present at
work all the time, but it was meant to encourage them not to take
unnecessary leave and to commend them for their punctuality.
Staff rewarded
were those who have not been absent during the whole of 2002 and 2003
as well as those who have been able to maintain the momentum
throughout the two years consecutively.
They received
their awards from the heads of their respective departments. |
