Now that the
government has approved the construction of a new primary school at Le
Rocher, the Ministry Education and Youth (MEY) is awaiting the approval
of the Ministry of Land Use and Habitat for the right location for the
school.
With the increase in
housing development at Le Rocher and the number of students attending
the Plaisance Primary School and the crêche there, MEY finds it
necessary and profitable to build a new primary school at Le Rocher.
This was announced
by the Minister for Education and Youth, Mr Danny Faure, during the
National Assembly's Question Time on Tuesday April 1.
He said the new
primary school would ease the present pressure on both the Plaisance
Primary and Secondary schools in terms of the number of students
attending the schools.
Minister Faure was
answering a question by MNA Isabelle Joubert, who asked what was the
ministry's plan for a new crèche and primary school for Les Mamelles.
