Kenyans living in Seychelles on Thursday December
4, said they have polished their acts and are ready to animate two
church services and offer a cultural performance.
"An ecumenical group known as Ebenezer will
take part in a church service that will begin at 8.30 a.m. in the
Pentecostal Assembly Church on Sunday December 7," said Mr Justus
Wanekeya, the chairperson of the Association of Kenyans in Seychelles (AKIS).
He said the same group will later animate a church
service to be held at 5.00 p.m. at the Good Shepherd Church, Mont Fleuri.
On the country's 40th Independence Day itself,
December 12, the Kenyans and their guests will assemble at the
International Conference Centre's Seafront Restaurant for dinner where a
dance troupe from the east African nation's coast will offer a number of
Giriama dances.
Mr Wanekeya said the "Kenyan night" will feature
other African cultural performances including the world-famous Masai
dances and Soukous and that there will be a raffle.
The event will also see a fashion show which will
feature a number of traditional Kenyan attire. |
