Diabetics will soon get a shop which offers food
items that are suitable for them, according to the chairperson of the
Diabetes Society of Seychelles, Mr K. D. Pillay (left in picture).

The association's head announced this in Victoria
on Saturday July 3 during a sensitisation drive the organisation held to
let the public learn more about the condition.
Representatives of the Nurses Association of
Seychelles took blood samples from many of the visitors to the stand and
did on-the spot-checks which allowed the to visitors to know if the
suffer the condition or not.
Nurse Elsia Sinon told Nation that those who
turned out positive for diabetes were advised to seek medical attention,
and those who were free from the condition were asked to make it a habit
to present themselves for periodic checks.
