Personnel from the
local government department recently completed a computer course to help
them with their daily activities.
During a recent
presentation ceremony at the ministry’s boardroom, the participants,
along with the department's principal secretary Vincent Meriton, Daniel
Port-Louis of Compufast and instructor Kenneth Mirabeau, gathered to
commemorate their achievement.
The batch of
participants included secretaries, district administrators and assistant
administrative officers, as well as other employees from the local
government secretariat.
In his address, Mr
Meriton, who had been a participant himself, congratulated everyone who
participated, urging them to apply the knowledge they have gained
through the course to improve their quality of work.
“Having placed much
emphasis on training, be it in accounting, public relations skills and
many more, computers are also imperative to ensure that we have
qualified and efficient workers in the ministry,” Mr Meriton said.
Exposing its
officials to proper computing skills is vital also to allow them to keep
in line with technological developments in the world, Mr Meriton added.
Josianne Hoareau,
one of the course's participants, expressed her gratitude towards the
organisers of the training programme.
Mrs Hoareau,
assistant administrator for the Roche Caiman district, said that she and
her colleagues would use the knowledge gained as a result of the course
to the best of their ability. |
