Artists get walls at
service centre to display works

A partial view of the
Customer Service Centre where the walls have been put at the disposal
of artists
Cable & Wireless
(Seychelles) is offering local artists space on the walls of its
recently refurbished Customer Service Centre in Victoria to exhibit
their works.
The spacious
centre, which is made up of a customer service section, Internet Café
and the bill payment counter, is based in Scotia House on Francis
Rachel Street.
Speaking to
Business Nation, Mrs Brigitte Ferrari, the manager of Customer
Services, said the company was offering artists, both amateurs and
professionals, the opportunity to further bring their work closer to
the public. The service will be rendered on a rotational basis whereby
the works of a new artist will be put on display every four months.
The company said
it has already received positive response from certain artists and it
is currently exhibiting some of the paintings produced by artist
Georges Camille.
Mrs Ferrari said
the idea of turning the Customer Service Centre into a one-stop shop
where customers could access various services under one roof, had
attracted more people and this is an opportunity that artists should
not miss to make the most of.
While waiting to
be served customers can admire the paintings or any other artistic
work displayed on the walls, Mrs Ferrari said.
Referring to the
colourful paintings already on display, Mrs Ferrari said they help
make the place more vibrant.
Those interested
in buying the works would be referred to the artist concerned.
Mrs Ferrari is
calling on all artists, especially those who have difficulties in
getting a prominent area to display their works, to get in touch with
the Customer Service Centre. Depending on response it receives from
artists, she said, this service could be extended to other centres.
The Customer
Service Centre is open from 8.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. Monday to Friday
and from 8.00 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturdays.
Besides paying
their bills, buying prepaid vouchers and starter-packs, customers can
also have access to the Internet Café which Mrs Ferrari said provided
very competitive students and standards rates. |
