Online gaming gains momentum among teenagers

Internet Café, Mid-Ocean Computers is now the talk of Market Street as its main service online gaming spreads like wild fires among teenagers.

Connected to Kokonet Solution Provider since January this year, Mid-Ocean is an Internet Café with a difference. Besides the usual services available in Internet Cafés such as browsing, email, chatting, Mid-Ocean's main attraction is its online gaming service targeting mainly teenagers and more matured audience. For only R10 per 15 minute, once online, the youngsters can also get the chance to compete with other people playing the same game anywhere in the world.  Teenagers are barred from games that are meant for adults only or games from 18 years onwards.

Besides offering online gaming, Mid-Ocean is best known for its top selling games available for Play Stations 1 and 2, X-Box and PC. Among its most popular games are Enter the Matrix for youngsters and GTA and Vice City for adults. Games for PS2 is sold at R175, X-Box at R200, PC at R100 and PS1 at R100. Game players are sold on order only.

The owner of the business Mr Daniel Lailam who is himself a specialist in computing said that with online gaming the youngsters have found another innovative way to entertain themselves. 

Mid-Ocean is open from 9.00 a.m to 5.00 p.m from Monday to Saturday.

Another Café which has this year opened its doors to clients is Classic Internet Café. Located at the Gro Samy building on Market Street, the Café is run by a young computer enthusiast, Farida who said she was really happy with the wireless package obtained from Kokonet whose support services she described  as up to expectations. The clients she said are satisfied they are getting a fast reliable service. Besides other usual services, Classic café also offers video and voice conferencing, burning of CDs, and printing and scanning opportunity at affordable prices.

The café is opened from Mondays to Saturdays from 8.00 a.m to 1.00 p.m.
