Four senior tourism officials have jetted to
Malaysia this week to take part in the first ever Commonwealth Travel
Mart.
Minister for Tourism and Transport Mr Joseph
Belmont has been joined by Ministry of Tourism Principal Secretary Mr.
Eddie Belle, Director of International Cooperation Mrs. Frauke Dogley
and Mr Danny Farra, the Marketing Co-coordinator of STMA, at the four
day event.
Held in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur from
March 18 to 21, the event provides members of the Commonwealth with the
chance to highlight the tourism opportunities available in their
countries.
An STMA press release describes the event as, "a
unique opportunity for suppliers and buyers of tourism products and
services as well as member countries of the Commonwealth to meet and to
network."
It goes on to say that the Travel Mart, "will allow
member countries of the Commonwealth a golden opportunity to showcase
their best tourism products , attractions and related services."
Some 200 booths have been set up to accommodate
exhibitors from the Commonwealth member countries as well as exhibitors
form the non-Commonwealth states.
Air Seychelles and STMA will have a stand each.
