Dan Import breathes new life in cane furniture market

The popularity of cane furniture is gaining fresh momentum with a remarkable rise in sales at Dan Import and Export at the Orion Mall, the centre attracting consumers with exotic tastes.

The posh and elegant set-up of the furniture inside the shop attracts both low and high income earners, taken in by the fresh smell of cane sets for the dining and living rooms and verandas.

Some rare items, which had for sometimes been admired in catalogues but were out of customers' reach, are available at the shop.

Those include beautifully-made bathroom sets, garden benches, beach chairs, cushions and curtain fabrics, bedroom and living room rugs and accessories like lamp shades, glassware, photo frames, knife sets, and microwave dishes.

The items are imported from Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Dubai.

Through its display, the shop provides ideas free of charge for furniture arrangement and interior décor ideal for consumers new to cane furniture and seeking inspiration to give a fresh look either to their living room or veranda.

After sale maintenance is also provided at the centre's workshop, where some of the furniture are also assembled by local craftsmen.

According to a spokesperson from the shop, people here have always been attracted to cane furniture, favoured for being light and easily maintained, but which had not been accessible over the years.

At the shop, customers are allowed to sit in the chairs and feel their comfort prior to buying them.

The furniture are sold at reasonable prices.

The shop's management has promised an exciting new stock of cane furniture and other items for the festive season as from December.

The shop is open from Monday to Friday, from 8.30 a.m to 4.30 p.m.
