Two elegantly built
complexes have been erected at Mont Fleuri to facilitate business
expansion now that more space has been made available to cater for new
initiatives and open new doors of opportunity for young entrepreneurs.
One of the buildings
is a three-storey commercial and residential complex promoted by the Hissen Van Hoi family which is situated next
to MPS supermarket. Besides the families, who are now occupying its
eight apartments on the first and second floors, the building also
houses on its ground floor a spare parts and accessories shop, Top
Speed, run by a young entrepreneur with 10 years of experience in
the spare parts business.
Packed with various
items that could attract drivers, mechanics, painters, engineers and
even fish lovers, Top Speed is
poised to make a name for itself at Mont Fleuri. Besides selling seat
covers, lights for vehicles, Top
Speed also designs number plates for vehicles as well as signs to
suit various requirements.
Also on the ground
floor is an interesting boutique selling various items ranging from
household products to sophisticated wears which is run by the Hissen Van
Hoi family members. The family will also open another shop on the same
floor soon.
The Hissen Van Hoi
building was constructed by Herman Maria Company and took about two
years to complete.
Further down, next
to the Jivan Complex, is another residential and commercial complex with
a fresh name, Shreeji Mansion. The three-storey mansion with attic was
promoted by Shreeji Investment Company Ltd and constructed by Shreeji
Construction Pty Ltd. True to its name, the building resembles a
luxurious house and is now the home of families who had taken up the 12
apartments of one and two bedrooms on the first and second floors.
Shreeji Mansion houses on its ground floor the Laxmi Furniture showroom
which, albeit its Indian sounding name, deals principally in the making
of furniture using local materials.
The furniture is
made at Shreeji's Construction's workshop and Laxmi also welcomes orders
from clients.
Mr Keshra Bhudia,
the director of Shreeji Construction, said that since the opening of the
showroom, public response had been positive.
"We are happy
that our clients are impressed and interested in the items we make and
this further encourages us to push ahead with plans to make maximum use
of local materials to produce 'Made in Seychelles' furniture," Mr
Bhudia told Business Nation.
Mr Bhudia noted that
Mont Fleuri was gradually expanding into a potential town-like hub for
business, especially with the erection of other buildings which would
eventually provide more space for commercial growth.
According to him, it
is necessary for business promoters to start eyeing other potential
areas for development outside Victoria, since the town was itself
getting a bit too crowded with infrastructure and had little parking
space.
Shreeji Mansion
itself offers a spacious parking area.
