Reggae superstars Joseph Hill and his band
Culture touched down in Seychelles on Tuesday December 2, on the
latest stopover in their World Peace world tour.
Here to play two concerts taken from the band's new
World Peace album, the visit marks the end of a ten-year hiatus
since Hill's last Seychelles gig in 1993.
Arriving at Seychelles International Airport at
3:20 p.m. on Tuesday, having flown in from their last performance in
Nairobi, Joseph Hill and Culture have only 24 hours to enjoy the
sights and sounds of Mahe before playing their first gig tonight
(December 3), 8:00 p.m. at the International Conference Centre.
Their second show will take place at 8:30 p.m. on
Saturday December 6, at the Stad Lanmizik, in a return to the venue used
in 1993 when Hill was forced to cut short the concert after being washed
off stage by a torrential downpour.
Tickets for the ICCS concert are on sale at SR100,
while Stad Lanmizik tickets cost SR50.
The veteran reggae singer and his band have been
brought to Seychelles by Seychelles Breweries Ltd., who earlier this
year arranged for another reggae survivor Eric Donaldson to jam in
Seychelles. |
