A partial view of the café. The Net is very popular among students

Equipped with nine latest IBM computers, The Net is the latest in a series of Internet Cafés to open in Victoria.

Besides Internet surfing The Net, a very spacious room based in the Sham Peng Tong Plaza on Albert Street, provides a series of services at competitive rates, including scanning, photocopy, black and white and colour printing, CD-Writer, online gaming and various Microsoft Windows packages, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Publisher and Microsoft Word.

"The Net is not just a place where you come to browse the Internet, but with all the facilities and technology available it can also be turned into an office for whoever is in need of a PC to work on. If you are having a problem with your PC or waiting for the repairman, there is no need to delay you business. By coming to The Net you can continue to operate as if you are in your own office," Ms Pamela Rose, who runs the Internet Café, told Business Nation.

Ms Rose said the café was very popular among children and secondary students who normally come for online gaming and Internet surfing. However she is calling on more post-secondary students to come and make use of the facilities at hand, especially for research and for higher studies.

Ms Rose is also inviting more adults to make use of the services.

The rates offered for Internet surfing is R10 for 15 minutes, R20 for 30 minutes and R40 for 60 minutes. The Net offers R25 for CD-Writer.

The café is open from Monday to Saturday. From Monday to Friday it is open from 8.30 a.m to 5.00 p.m and on Saturdays from 8.30 a.m to 1.00 p.m.
