Is Anse Royale
gearing up for its proposed transformation from a district into a town?
Business promoter Mr Clifford Benoit seems to think so with the
investment of R3 million in one of the most elegantly-built commercial
and residential complexes in that district.
The one-storey CSB
Building is located along the Mont Plaisir Road opposite the Seychelles
Polytechnic.
While most
developers are concentrating their efforts in the vicinity of Victoria,
Mr Benoit is optimistic that with higher standard of infrastructural
development, Anse Royale can easily reach the status of a town.
"Anse Royale is
an ideal location for major commercial developments and the construction
of CSB is in tune with the new phase of development in the
district," Mr Benoit told Business
Nation.
Mr Benoit said CSB,
which stands for his full name, "Clifford Sibert Benoit", is
the first in a series of projects coming up soon in the district. But
projects, he added, could only be implemented with the necessary support
and depending on availability of land.
In the meantime, Mr
Benoit is encouraging all business promoters to play their role in
ensuring the proper maintenance of their surroundings and carrying out
regular renovation work on their buildings and infrastructure.
The building's
stylish Creole and modern blend of architecture was designed by Mr
Franky Petrousse of Aries Consultancy. CSB was constructed by Yangze
Construction and it took two years to complete.
On the first floor
of the building are flats and offices, whereas the ground floor
comprises an information technology and computer training centre, a
snack shop and take-away, a youth department centre and a Deepam's video
rental.
The video rental is
also seen as a sign of Deepam's decentralisation of its services, as the
company eyes possibilities to further expand its business to the South
of Mahe.
