Durga Store on
Market Street has been rewarded by telecommunication company Airtel for
having sold the highest number of Magic Prepaid cards last year.
Durga Store came out
best amongst some 250 other Magic Prepaid dealers on Mahe, Praslin and
La Digue. Both its proprietors Messrs S.Raja and G. Ashok Kumar who are
Seychellois of Indian origin have each won a return ticket to the
destination of their choice. They have however chosen to go to India to
visit their relatives.
27-year old Raja
said since it opened two years ago, Durga Store has always sold Airtel
Magic Prepaid cards. The most popularly sold he said are the R50 cards.
Located in a highly
frequented corner on Market Street, Durga Store is
also used as an advertising spot for Airtel's promotional campaigns.
The space outside
the shop was used in last month's campaign to advertise Airtel's Fun SMS
services and to distribute the leaflets.
Airtel said given
the increase in the popularity of its Magic Prepaid cards, it was
important to recognise dealers who sold the most cards, for their good
work. |
