The Seychelles Breweries Ltd (SBL) has announced that it has ended its distribution agreement with one of it distributors, Krishna Mart Co (Pty) Ltd, due to a breach of contract.

The agreement was terminated on May 21. SBL did not give details as to the circumstances which caused the breach of contract.

As a result, some 90 retailers on Mahe which were relying on Krishna Mart for supplies of SBL's products have been affected.

SBL has said that it has taken up the responsibility to deliver the products as part of a temporary distribution arrangement set up to keep on supplying the 90 retailers in question.

The retailers have to pay in cash for the delivery.

SBL has also said that following the termination of the agreement with the distributing company, it is reviewing its distribution systems with the aim of guaranteeing supplies in the most effective way to its customers.

SBL has four remaining distributors, three on Mahe and one on La Digue. The company takes care of its own distribution on Praslin.
