Captain Morgan is now a director at SBL

The Seychelles Breweries Limited (SBL) has announced the appointment of Captain Robert Morgan has one of its non-executive directors.

The appointment of Captain Morgan brings to five the number of directors on the Board of SBL, two of whom are Seychellois and three foreigners. The company said that this new appointment reflected its commitment to enlist more Seychellois on the Board of Directors. The non-executive directors have no personal interests in the company.

Captain Morgan has had a long and distinguished career in the maritime field. He has been a ship's Captain, the Harbour Master of Port Victoria and the chairman of the United Nations' International Maritime Organisation's (IMO) facilitation committee which has its headquarters in London, UK. Currently, Captain Morgan is the chairman of the Seychelles Marine Board and is the Managing Director of Naval Services Limited. He has also played an active part in the community having been the chairman of the Seychelles Round Table and President of the Rotary Club of Victoria.

The chairman of SBL, Mr David Hampshire said he was delighted that Captain Morgan had agreed to become a director of the company.

"He is a respected businessman, a man of integrity and will bring a wealth of experience to the Board of Seychelles Breweries. His appointment underlines SBL's position as a company with a long term commitment to developing further in Seychelles," he said.
