Captain Morgan is now a
director at SBL
The Seychelles
Breweries Limited (SBL) has announced the appointment of Captain Robert
Morgan has one of its non-executive directors.
The appointment of
Captain Morgan brings to five the number of directors on the Board of
SBL, two of whom are Seychellois and three foreigners. The company said
that this new appointment reflected its commitment to enlist more
Seychellois on the Board of Directors. The non-executive directors have
no personal interests in the company.
Captain Morgan has
had a long and distinguished career in the maritime field. He has been a
ship's Captain, the Harbour Master of Port Victoria and the chairman of
the United Nations' International Maritime Organisation's (IMO)
facilitation committee which has its headquarters in London,
UK. Currently, Captain Morgan is the chairman of the Seychelles Marine
Board and is the Managing Director of Naval Services Limited. He has
also played an active part in the community having been the chairman of
the Seychelles Round Table and President of the Rotary Club of Victoria.
The chairman of SBL,
Mr David Hampshire said he was delighted that Captain Morgan had agreed
to become a director of the company.
"He is a respected
businessman, a man of integrity and will bring a wealth of experience to
the Board of Seychelles Breweries. His appointment underlines SBL's
position as a company with a long term commitment to developing further
in Seychelles," he said. |
