Eight entrepreneurs
are taking part in a workshop on the best way to make pastries and
fries.
The six-day workshop
to end Saturday is taking place at the Seychelles Hospitality and
Tourism Training College (SHTTC) and is being conducted by a qualified
chef, Mr Hudson Philo.
The aim of the
workshop, organised by the Seychelles Industrial Development Corporation
(SIDEC), is to further improve the skills of entrepreneurs working in
bakeries or snack shops so as to upgrade the quality of their products.
The workshop
consists of both theory and practical sessions and at the end the
participants will receive certificates.
According to Mr Juan
Payet, the Senior Project officer from SIDEC, the training is helping
the participants to correct the mistakes they were making.
For instance, he
said, most of them needed to refresh their knowledge on how to properly
make the dough for feyte and croissant.
The other workshop
targeting businesses on SIDEC's calendar for this month is
"Managing a Small Firm."
