World
Telecommunication Day
Technologies leading
the way to sustainable development
In a message to mark this year's World Telecommunication Day Monday
May17, the deputy chief executive officer of Cable & Wireless
Seychelles, Cyril Bonnelame says the company is proud to be part of a
global communications company that is increasingly driven by
information and communication technologies.
The theme for this year’s World Telecommunication Day is ITCs
(Information and Communication Technologies): Leading the way to
sustainable development.
"It is these technologies that are helping to reduce global problems,
such as poverty and hunger, by reaching out to the poorest and most
isolated areas of the world and help them join the mainstream of
national and even global markets," Mr Bonnelame says.
Cable & Wireless Seychelles, he says "has been leading the way in
ensuring social and economic development in Seychelles through the
provision of reliable communications, backed by the skills and
knowledge of our greatest asset – our employees."
"Today, the people of
Seychelles
have access to information technology that is not only up-to-date with
modern developments, but in many instances, exceeds that of larger
markets in other countries – particularly in the region," he adds
In this new era, we will continue to lead the way in further
developing communications in Seychelles in order to improve the
economic, social and cultural well being of our people, Mr Bonnelame
notes.
Thanking the company's loyal customers for their support, Mr Bonnelame
says he looks forward to their continued trust in Cable & Wireless (Sey). |
