Seychelles and Beachcomber Ste. Anne Resort are to
receive further European publicity with the visit this week(July 28 -
August 3) of a British television crew.
Visiting Seychelles for the popular Good Morning TV
(GMTV) programme, the four strong film crew will be staying on Ste Anne
from August 4 to 10.
With a focus on the beauty of Seychelles' natural
environment, the crew will spend a day on La Digue, visit the Vallée de
Mai on Praslin, the Mission Lodge, carry out a coastal tour of Mahe and
enjoy lunch on Round Island.
The footage captured by the film crew is to be used
on five consecutive days by GMTV and the resultant publicity is sure to
be enjoyed by Seychelles, Beachcomber and Mason's Travel, which is
handling the film crew's logistics.
Having recently played host to competition winners
from the Das Bild German newspaper, a group of South African
journalists, a Clarins make-up launch and a party of over forty Italian
travel agents, the publicity generated by the GMTV visit, in another of
Seychelles biggest tourist markets, is far from unprecedented for the
Ste. Anne Resort.
Also involved in the visit is the Seychelles
Tourism Marketing Association (STMA), which is sponsoring the group's
trip to La Digue, the entrance fee to the Vallée de Mai and is hosting a
lunch at the Vye Marmit.
Ms Jenny Harris-Beggs, STMA's head of marketing
said that the visit would help publicise Seychelles amongst the GMTV
audience, which, at over 4 million, represents a huge promotion for
Seychelles.
She also confirmed that, while the trip will focus
on Beachcomber, it will also try to take in all of the other highlights
that Seychelles has to offer.
According to Ms Harris-Beggs the British tourist
market, along with the German and South African markets, remains
positive and there has been no noticeable decline in bookings. Ms
Harris-Beggs said that, judging by forward bookings, the UK market will
continue to remain positive, at least into the near future.
