Since its introduction three years ago, the
entertainment show Twinkle Twinkle Little Stars has recorded
great success, so much so that it has become an annual event.
The show, which brings to the fore the natural
singing talents hidden in children, is an initiative of Bennet Accouche,
an experienced music teacher at the School of Music.
This year’s edition of the show is expected to take
place at the International Conference Centre (ICCS) in June.
Audition for
participants who wish to take part has already started and according to
Mr Accouche, every year 15 little stars are chosen among some 90
children.
Stating that it
is a difficult task to choose the 15 best participants, Mr Accouche has
said that this year’s audition is going to be tough and he is going to
be very strict in selecting the 15 little stars who will appear in the
show in June.
Mr Accouche
pointed out that children selected should be enthusiastic, confident to
perform in front of a crowd, and outgoing.
The rehearsals to choose the final 15 best
participants take place every weekday at the School of Music, Mont
Fleuri. During the rehearsals, the children receive coaching on
improving their voice, sound pitch and melody.
The show in June, which will last two hours, will
include performances by the Children’s Choir from the School of Music as
well as performances by other artists. But Mr Accouche has said that
this year’s show will be shorter in duration, meaning fewer performances
by other local artists.
Compared to previous years, the little stars will
this year be encouraged to interpret songs with moral values, Mr
Accouche said.
Meanwhile, parents who have children aged between 4
and 9 years old who have a good voice, are outspoken and willing to
perform in public can contact Mr Bennet Accouche on 714519 for audition. |
