The Italian tour operator which runs the highest
number of holidays to Seychelles, Alke Viaggi, will be sending a group
of 31 travel agents to Seychelles for a “one night experience” on
Sunday, May 11.
Alke Viaggi, owned and managed by Seychelles-born
Mrs Juliana Grandcourt, has arranged the 24-hour stay in order to give a
taste of Seychelles to some of it's most successful agents and is being
assisted in doing so by STMA, Air Seychelles and Ste. Anne Beachcomber
Resort, which will be hosting the group during their visit.
Besides enjoying the sun and sand on Ste. Anne, a
festive Creole evening and moutia will be arranged with
entertainment being provided by Mr John Vital and his dancers. A
presentation on the destination will also be delivered to the
representatives.
The aim of the educational trip is to expose a
diverse cross section of travel agents, coming from different regions in
Italy, to our beautiful islands and as a result create further potential
for growth and an increased share of the lucrative Italian tourism
market.
The trip is limited to only 24 hours for two
reasons, firstly, so as to reduce the costs incurred by Beachcomber in
hosting the 31 day trippers and secondly, to keep the participants
hungry for another trip to our islands.
The Italian tourist market has been described by an
STMA representative as very sensitive and is therefore one which must be
nurtured and given the very closest attention.
Alke Viaggi was recently awarded top honours during
Borso Iternatioanle del Tourismo, or International Tourism Exchange,
travel trade fair in Milan in February this year, as the most loyal and
largest supporter of the destination.
