Batting
first, Luckstars openers Sulu and Ajantha took the score to 38 overs
before Ajantha was out caught by Ramesh for a well hit 15. Then Muditha
and Sulu took the score to 57 in the 15th over before Muditha was out
for 3.
After
the drinks break, Luckstars tried to accelerate the scoring rate and
they were able to add another 67 runs in 15.3 overs.
Opening
batsman Sulu, batting with great ease made a good 23 including 2 sixes
while Shantha made 16 including 2 fours. But the most valuable
contribution at this point came from Bandu who made 27 in 28 balls
including 3 fours.
Luckstars
made 124 for all out in 29.4 overs.
For
Mahe Kings, John Khambatta bowled well to capture 3 wickets for 16 runs
in 6 overs supported by Ravi who managed 4 for 22 in 6 overs and Vijay 3
for 26 in 5.4 overs.
In
reply, having a required run rate of 4.2 runs per over, Mahe Kings
batsmen were kept at bay by Luckstars bowlers. Apart from the opener
Ramesh, who batted sensibly with a mixture of caution and aggression,
none of the other batsmen entered into double figures.
Ramesh
made 26 in 35 balls including 2 fours and a six.
Finally,
they were all out for 66 runs in 16.3 overs.
For
Luckstars, Bertram took 4 wickets for 12 runs in 4.3 overs, Shantha 3
for 15 in 4 and Roshan 2 for 17 in 4.
Luckstars
will next meet Supercats on October 6 at Stad Popiler and the winner
will meet Vijay in the final.
Meanwhile
the match between, Mahe Kings and Vijay scheduled for this coming Sunday
has been postponed to October 13.
