THE pair of
Sue Waterhouse and Harold Prea was the winner on Saturday August
17, McMahon's farewell competition played at the Seychelles Golf
Club, Anse Aux Pins.
Over 30 members took the field to play the competition on a format known
as choose your own partner better-ball medal.
After the
first nine holes, the leaders were the pairs of Rassool/Barbe,
Waterhouse/Prea and Jerry/Elisa. With the scores being quite close, the
players used different strategies to avoid dropping too many shots.
At the end
of the 18 holes, Rassool/Barbe, who had a very good score of 57, looked
like cruising to victory, but Sue Waterhouse played her best golf on
that day, scoring
together with her partner Harold Prea, a net score of 54 to be declared
the winner.
The pair of Rassool/Barbe had to settle for second place, while the duo
of Micock/Labrosse was third.
On behalf of the club members, captain Dudu Chudasamy thanked McMahon,
whose contract here with the Social Security Funds has come to an end,
for all the help he has given to the club. He also wished him and his
family all the best for the future.
