LOCAL table tennis players have benefited from the
expertise of Croatian Roman Plese, an International Table Tennis
Federation (ITTF) coach, who leaves the country Wednesday after a
five-day working visit.
During the whole of last weekend and on Monday and
Tuesday of this week, the ITTF coach conducted several training sessions
with national team players who are in full preparation for the
forthcoming Indian Ocean Islands Games (IOIG) which will be held in
Mauritius in August next year.
Coach Plese is to fly to Madagascar Wednesday and
later to Mauritius on similar working visits.
National team coach, Swedish Roger Lagerfeldt, has
told Sports Nation that the
short visit of his Croatian counterpart would help the players to
further improve their techniques.
“We want to give our best at the IOIG, so
whatever help we can get prior to the Games is very much appreciated,”
he said.
