LAST Saturday’s
(March 27) Barclays Monthly Mug competition, played at the Anse Aux Pins
golf course, was a two-man race. Eddie Micock carved up the course with
a remarkable score of 61 nett to win.
Simon Dine was the
only other contender, coming in with what would have normally been a
winning score of 63 nett.
In third place
with a 68 nett was Mervyn Esparon, while Andrew Hoareau was fourth with
a score of 69 nett.
Micock, who had
been observing Tiger Woods on television during the week, took a lesson
from Tiger and he left his driver in his bag and played consistent golf
with his 3wood, thus taking his sixth Barclays Mug.
The Modern
Printing Services tournament will be played tomorrow, starting at 12.30
p.m. at the Anse Aux Pins venue, while the final of the H. Savy
Insurance MatchPlay will take place on April 10.
