| Barbé gets third Mug | ||

AFTER winning the first two Mugs sponsored by Barclays Bank for the months of January and February, Seychelles' male number one golfer Ron Barbé closed the 2003 season with his third Mug for the month of December. One-handicapper Barbé, winner of seven of the 12 possible Barclays Monthly Mugs in 2002, led with a gross score of 35 after the first nine holes. Several other golfers, who were finding it difficult to score in the 2003 season-ending Barclays Monthly Mug competition, followed with a gross 36. |

Two-time National Championship winner Barbé, who in 2002 set a new course record of gross 63 (nett 61) to erase the old best of 64 held by Charlie Morin for over a decade, held on to win by one stroke with a nett 69 (gross 71). Second place went to Patrick Asba on a countback with Peter Moncherry settling for third position. G. G. |
