SPTC driver Joe Elisa played golf à la Tiger Wood
last Saturday at the Seychelles Golf Course, Anse Aux Pins, to come
first with 66 points and
drive Andrew Hoareau and Jayant Mayadas into second and third places
respectively.
The leaderboard after the first nine showed that the competition would
be decided with the last putt as the scores for about half the field
were very close. It was then that Joe Elisa played his best golf on the
back nine to claim the prestigious Barclays Mug which he had been
chasing for a very long time.
After the competition, Mr Frank Hoareau, representing Barclays Bank,
presented the prizes to the winners.
In
his closing speech, club captain Dudu Chudasama thanked the sponsors,
Barclays Bank Seychelles Ltd, on behalf of the club members, for its
support to the club.
The next Barclays Mug will be played on October 26, starting at 12.45
p.m. at the Anse Aux Pins course.
