Volcère wins it for SMB

SMB collected their first ever win in the top flight, edging Sunshine 1-0 in their second match of the Sunkiss'd division one league championship on Thursday June 24 at Stad Linite.

Former Mont Buxton player Tony Volcère, a 40th minute replacement for injured Colin Laporte, scored the winner in the 80th minute to give last year's second division champions SMB their first three points in the two-round League.

Coached by former Seychelles players Jeris César and Roger Labonté, SMB, it is to note, lost their first match 0-3 to La Passe on La Digue.

As for Sunshine, who are under the guidance of Elvis Uzice, they have now gone two matches without a win. Their first loss was against Red Star on a 1-5 score in the opening match of the championship.
