ON the wind swept tennis courts of Roche Caïman
last Saturday, Aces did it again.
Under the captainship of chairman John Adam, they
beat El Nino 4-2, winning three singles – the winners being Selwyn
Knowles, Selwyn Lespoir and Fatim Kanté – and the men's doubles through
Selwyn Knowles and Selwyn Lespoir.
Selwyn Knowles, Selwyn Lespoir and Fatim Kanté beat
Maxwell Fock-Tave, Shane Pothin and Clivy Delpeche respectively, while
the men's doubles pair of Selwyn Knowles and Selwyn Lespoir defeated the
El Nino duo of Andre Hissen and Maxwell Fock-Tave.
El Nino's Anthony Brioche won his men's singles
match against John Adam and partnered Clivy Delpeche for the mixed
doubles to beat Fatim Kanté and John Adam.
Previously on Friday, Grand Slam, under the captainship of Tim
Horpinitch, registered
a walk-over in their match against Spitfire captained by Antoine Hip-Waye.
One of Spitfire's singles players was not present
when the names of the players had to be submitted and consequently,
according to the rule, they forfeited their match.
According to matches played so far, Aces are in the lead with six
points, followed by Tennis Club 2000 on 3, Grand Slam on 3. Three teams
– El Nino, Spitfire and The Blues – are scoreless. |
