LIEUTENANT Colonel
André Ciseau, the commanding officer of the Seychelles Coast Guard,
presented a cheque worth R10,000 to the Anse Royale Sports Club
during a small ceremony which took place Tuesday afternoon at the
Anse Royale district administration.
Lieutenant Colonel
Ciseau handed over the cheque to Anse Royale district administrator, Mrs
Sylvanne Lemiel, on behalf of the Seychelles People Defence Forces (SPDF)
and Chief of Staff, Colonel Leopold Payet, who also made a personal
contribution to the total sum.
Present at Tuesday's
ceremony were Lieutenant Jean Atala and representatives of the Anse
Royale district.
On presenting the
cheque, Lieutenant Colonel Ciseau had this to say:
"On behalf of
Colonel Leopold Payet and the SPDF, I am very pleased to present the
cheque to the Anse Royale Sports Club. This money is a sign of the
SPDF's appreciation for your continued support towards the organisation
of the Defence Forces Day which is celebrated on November 25."
He added that he
sincerely hoped that the money would be of great help to the development
of sports in the Anse Royale district and help the teams achieve better
results.
For her part, Mrs
Lemiel thanked the SPDF for the sponsorship and said that the money
would be used to buy new uniforms and equipment for the district's
football and volleyball teams.
Mrs Lemiel added
that she hoped to receive more sponsorship in the future and that the
existing relationship between the SPDF and the Anse Royale district
would be strengthened.
