CHARLIE Morin rediscovered his old game on Saturday
October 26, playing one of his best golf, reminiscing of his younger
days, to emerge as the winner of this month's Barclays Bank Monthly Mug.
The hot and humid day suited the younger players who scored some very
low scores on the front nine. The best scores went to youngsters
Darel Anthony and Damien Hoareau, followed by Eddie Micock and William
Weidner.
Morin, who was in the last group, came in with a
gross 33 strokes.
However, on the back nine, Morin went into his bag of tricks to pull out
some big plays and make his experience tell on the young players who
were also playing their best golf.
Hoareau and Anthony came in with scores of 65 net
which put them among the potential winners for the much-contested and
valuable Barclays crystal Mug. Strangely enough, Morin stayed cool
throughout the competition and shot a nett 63, being two strokes less
than the second and third finishers.
The prizes were presented by Mr Frank Hoareau, Executive Corporate
Manager at Barclays Bank Seychelles Ltd.
On
behalf of all the members of the Seychelles Golf Club, Dudu Chudasama,
the club's captain, thanked Barclays Bank for its continued support to
the club.
The next competition for this highly-prized Mug will be played on
Saturday November 30.
