1994.... For this first year of competition after the re-introduction of clubs in the sport, our club attained third place in the clasification league for the year. In relation to our league position, the following year we were classified amongst the top teams and formed part of the new division one league competition of 1995.
We were also runners up in the National Day Cup Competition for that year.

League trophy won in 1995
1995.... This year was a very sucessfull year for the club. We managed to finish the league competition in first position and we were crowned the first team to win the division one league title after the re-introduction of clubs in 1993.
This success was surely due to the training camp we organized in Mauritius before the league competition started. This training camp lasted for 10 days from the 10th to the 20th of March 1995 and we also had the oportunity to play some top teams in Mauritius.

1996.... As league champion of 1995 we now had to battle with stronger international teams in the African League Champion's Competition.
We had to face the league champion of Ethiopia. The team was St George F.C. and for the first match we were the away team so we had to travel to Ethiopia. The match itself was a very exiting one but unluckily we lost the game by one single goal.
                                                                             The squad in Ethiopia
The final score was:-
  - ST GEORGE F.C. 1
  - SUNSHINE F.C. 0
The next game would give us the advantage as we were now the home team. The players gave their best and we won the home match.

Ready for the toss in Addis Ababa
The final score was:-
  - SUNSHINE F.C. 2
  - ST GEORGE F.C. 1
Unfotunately this win would not be suficient to see us proceed in the next round of the competition because we lost on aggregate by one goal.
The final total aggregate was:-
  - ST GEORGE F.C. 3
  - SUNSHINE F.C. 2
In the league competition we managed to finish in the second position behind St Michel United by a single point deficit.

Mr. Jeris Cesar
1997.... With Mr Jeris Cesar as coach we again finished in the second place in the Division One League Competition.
For the knockout Competition we managed to beat the titleholders Red Star.
The final score was:-
  - RED STAR F.C. 1
  - SUNSHINE F.C. 2
We reached the quarter finals but unfortunately were unlucky and lost at the hands of Rovers F.C. a second division team by a single goal.
The final score was:-
  - ROVERS F.C. 1
  - SUNSHINE F.C. 0

1998.... This proved to be a very bad year for us as we only managed to finish in the fifth position in the League Competition and did not managed to go futher than the first round in the Homemakers Knockout Competition. (This year also the team was coached by Mr Jeris Cesar.)
1999.... The biggest highlight of this year was the fact that we made it to the final of the Homemakers Knockout Competition. However we could only take hold of the runners up trophy as we lost to Red Star.
The final score was:-                                                                          The Runners Up trophy.

  - RED STAR F.C. 2
  - SUNSHINE F.C. 1
(This was also the first time we made it to the final of the Knockout Competition.)
With Mr. Ulric Mathiot as Technical Advisor and Mr. Vivian Both as coach, the team saw their efforts in the league only secured them a disapointing fifth place.

2000.... With the league season closing the team stayed close to the leaders Red Star and St Michel and might have also won the title. But in the end the team finished third in a season which was full of excitements.
After a very good season we again made it to the final of the Homemakers Knockout Competition. While many believe it to be a repetition of the previous Knockout final in both opponents and score, we hanged on till the last minute after going down by one goal. In the 88th minute Denis Belle equalised for us with a thumping header to take the match to extra time and penalty shootout.

The captain Christian recieving the winners trophy.
The full & extra time score was:-
  - RED STAR F.C. 1
  - SUNSHINE F.C. 1
In the penalty shootout our players did not miss a singly penalty while Red Star saw their second penalty saved by our keeper Vincent Euphrasie and their fourth hitting the post. In the end our the team was more than happy to recieve the Winners Trophy for the first time ever.
The final score was:-

  - RED STAR F.C. 3
  - SUNSHINE F.C. 5
Now the biggest challenge ahead is to defend our title and also make our country proud in the XXVIIth African Cup of Cup Winners', 2001 which we have qualified for.
