The Seychelles tourism industry is increasingly focusing on nature based tourism or eco-tourism. Jules Verne Undersea Walks captures the eco-tourism market as well as the international trend in adventure tours.

The objective of the venture is to provide a glimpse of the underwater world and to foster appreciation of the beauty and fragility of the marine environment. Staff were trained in environmental and nature issues and all efforts were geared to protect the environment. An assessment of potential sites was undertaken to choose one with minimal amount of environmental impact.
