The proposed industry to be sited on the Mahe East Coast will use mostly shark skin to produce high-end products such as boots, handbags and wallets. The report concentrated on the potential impacts of the industrial operations of the venture. The sustainability of using sharks, a resource which is virtually wasted as the meat has a low value in Seychelles, was the focus of a separate report.
